Window & Portable ACs - AC State & App State Do Not Match

Understanding the Issue

Window air conditioners and portable AC units that have physical buttons operate differently from regular split AC units. Instead of sending absolute commands (like “set to 72°F”), Sensibo sends relative commands (like “increase temperature by 1 degree”) to these types of units.

Why Synchronization Matters

For Sensibo to work correctly with your Window or Portable AC, the physical unit’s state must match what’s shown in the Sensibo app. If you use the physical buttons on the AC unit without updating the app, the synchronization will be lost, causing incorrect commands to be sent.

How to Synchronize Your AC with Sensibo

  1. Open the Sensibo app and note the current settings:

    • Operation mode (Cool, Heat, etc.)
    • Temperature setting
    • Fan speed
    • Any other relevant settings
  2. Using the physical buttons on your AC unit, adjust all settings to match exactly what you see in the Sensibo app.

  3. Once synchronized, avoid using the physical buttons on the AC unit. Instead, control your AC exclusively through the Sensibo app to maintain proper synchronization.

Still Having Issues?

If you’re using the Sensibo app exclusively after syncing and still notice that commands aren’t working as expected, you might need to select a different remote variant for your AC unit. Different models of the same AC brand might respond better to different remote configurations.

Follow our device pairing guide to select and test different remote variants for your AC.
